Peter Orser is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER and Licensed Insurance Advisor with over 24 years of experience helping individuals, families, and business owners achieve their financial goals. He specializes in personalized strategies across financial planning, tax, estate, and insurance, tailored to each client’s unique needs.

 

After earning his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa in 1992, Peter built a diverse career in financial services across Ontario and the Atlantic Provinces. He now serves clients in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Ontario, offering trusted advice and long-term support.

 

Peter has lived in Halifax since 1999 with his wife Teresa and their two daughters. He’s an active volunteer in his community and enjoys running, hockey, and golf—having completed several marathons.

 

Peter collaborates with clients’ accountants, lawyers, and other professionals, or draws on the resources of Davison Orser and his extended network to deliver comprehensive, coordinated advice.

Teresa Orser brings over 30 years of professional experience to her role, including 19 years in sales and marketing within the IT sector, where she supported businesses across Atlantic Canada and the Prairies. For the past 13 years, she has been an integral part of the family business, working alongside Peter Orser to support clients and manage day-to-day operations.

 

Originally from Port Williams, NS, Teresa earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Business Certificate from Acadia University. She began her career in Toronto, where she lived for six years before relocating to Halifax with Peter to build their life and business together.

 

As Client Services Manager, Teresa oversees office administration, client processing, scheduling, marketing, and communications—ensuring a smooth and responsive experience for every client.

 

A proud mom of two adult daughters, Teresa is active in community outreach and enjoys running, biking, golf, music, and reading in her spare time.

Supporting the communities within which we work

At IPC, we built IPC Cares to bring together the various efforts we make towards enhancing the communities within which we operate. By adopting causes that are close to our hearts, we keep ourselves committed and accountable.

Last year alone, as a company, we supported the aid efforts on the Fort McMurray fires, palliative care through The Healing Cycle Foundation and women and children through The Salvation Army.

Perhaps the most significant effort we undertake, and one that we believe is representative of the kind of work that inspires and keeps us committed to our CSR efforts, is the community development project in Honduras with The Carpenteros & Friends. Last year’s project involved a group of IPC staff and Advisors volunteering their time and energy on the ground. Very little is as inspiring and rewarding as living the lives of the people you’re helping, and every one of the people who took the journey came back a changed person, even more determined to stay committed to making a difference in the world!

We also made countless small but significant contributions of our time and resources within our communities through many grassroots charities we believe in, and the ripple effect of their efforts are always rewarding.
